According to the latest data of the Federal Bureau of Labor, in August the total number of unemployed people reached 3.472 million, which is 8.3% of the working population.

Official data shows that the number of unemployed increased by 276.000 compared with August last year. Compared to July, the number of jobless increased by additional 9.000.

The unemployment rate in Germany is lower than the average euro-zone.
