According to the latest data, the external trade deficit in the first seven months of this year is 37.7% lower than the deficit in the same period last year.

Serbia's exports from January to July reached €3.3 billion,  a decrease by 23.5%, while imports reached €6.3 billion, a decrease by 31% than in the first seven months of 2008.

The main reason for this trend is global economic crisis that led to the decline of agricultural activities.
