According to the latest statistics, this year Albania produced 50.5% more power compared to last year, and managed to cover the demand for electricity with domestic production.

The main reason for increasing the production of electricity is putting in function the small hydrocentrals given for concession in the past years, but most certainly because of the favorable condition of the waters.
In the first half of this year a total of 2,994,000 megawatt-hours  was produced or 61.5 percent of the total demand.
