Opel, the European branch of General Motors will produce the model Astra in Russia, after the takeover by the consortium that consists of the Canadian auto parts producer Magna and the Russian bank Sberbank- stands in the statement of the Opel management.

The company announced that the vehicles that are to be produced in the Russian factories will be sold on the markets of the ex- Soviet countries and on the Russian market, and the car parts for them will be produced in the western European countries and Poland.
