The Board of directors of UniCredit accepted the proposal to increase its capital for 4 billion euro by issuing new regular shares, announced UniCredit.

This action is expected to be completes in the first quarter of 2010, if the Group collects every necessary approvals from the adequate authorities.

The leading managers of the emission will be Merrill Lynch and UniCredit Corporate & Investment Banking, as well as Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs International, Mediobanca and UBS Investment Bank.
