The Russian economy has managed to overcome the recession, as in the third quarter this year the economy grew compared to the previous quarter.

Russian GDP in the second quarter this year compared to the first increased by 7.4 percent, while GDP in the first quarter against GDP in the last quarter of 2008 marked a decline by 23.5 percent.
The Russian finance minister forecasted that the economy will exit from recession in the third quarter this year even early September.
Experts from the Russian Ministry of Economy, evaluate that GDP will fall by 8.5% in 2009 compared to last year, while in 2010 the Russian economy will rose by 1.6 percent.
